Job Purpose and Impact

Cargill Starches, Sweeteners and Texturizers Europe is a large business segment providing Starch, Sweeteners and Texturizers solutions to food and industrial suppliers in Europe.

The Business Finance Director will provide strategic financial leadership to establish the vision and strategy of financial planning and analysis for the European business. In this role, you will lead a high performing team to provide insight into business profitability, value creation and growth opportunities. You will also bring market perspective through effective and creative benchmarking, drive financial performance and growth, enable understanding of product and customer profitability and evaluate investment, acquisition and divestiture opportunities.


Key Accountabilities

  • Provide strategic partnership to the Managing Director and the European leadership team, bringing perspective on varying aspects of the business strategy.

  • Direct the identification and implementation of key performance indicators to create, maintain and preserve value within a complex business group and focuses management on the most significant risks and opportunities.

  • Partner with various stakeholders to support new business activities including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures, business transactions, tax and customs issues.

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of value-added business analytics and seeks external benchmarking to provide insights to drive targeted actions.

  • Leads all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, sensitivity analysis and scenario planning.

  • Partners closely with other functions and business managers to ensure strategies are accomplished, leveraging accounting and finance resources for key support, information and data.

  • Provide strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Confirmed ability to communicate complex topics in a simple and concise manner, enabling improved decision making and deeper business insight

  • Experience integrating and interpreting disparate sources of data by leveraging a broad range of analytical data tools, statistical methodologies and predictive modeling techniques

  • Experience in international business management and issues, including global supply chains, multiple currency environments, commodity and financial risk

  • Strong business acumen in a commercial, operational and trading environment

  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience, five years of supervisory experience
