We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Policy Officer to support EPHA’s work on Digital Health. This position plays a crucial role in advocating for inclusive digital health policies and services within the European Union. With support of senior management, the Policy Officer will manage EPHA’s Digital Transformation Policy Cluster, conduct research and analysis, provide expert advice to the Commission, engage with health stakeholders, and support the development and implementation of projects and grant proposals.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manages and executes stream of work within EPHA’s Digital Transformation Policy Cluster;
  • Conduct in-depth research and monitor policy and legislative initiatives in the field of digital health, including initiatives like the European Health Data Space and the AI Act;
  • Advocates for inclusive digital health policies and services in the EU through strategic advocacy and impactful policy publications;
  • Liaise with members, stakeholders and partners, including researchers, NGOs, policymakers and others, and tap into their expertise to draft documents and policy recommendations;
  • Drives the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies to shape and advance digital health policies in the EU;
  • Organises and participates in events, conferences, and consultations, representing EPHA’s position on digital health topics;
  • Analyses and evaluates policy proposals, providing recommendations and publishing policy papers to influence decision-making processes;
  • Serves as a knowledgeable advisor on digital health issues by representing EPHA through membership in the expert eHealth Stakeholder Group;
  • Supports the work of EPHA’s Communication Team by crafting effective social media messages, website content and press release to raise the visibility of the digital health topics;
  • Contributes to securing EPHA’s financial sustainability (including by preparing grant applications and executing project) and membership development;
  • Contributes to organisation’s operations and culture
The successful candidate MUST meet the following criteria:
  • Master’s degree in EU public policy, public health, economics or law and a proven affinity for public health;
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in research and/or policy;
  • Strong, demonstrable commitment to the EPHA’s vision and values;
  • Knowledgeable about EU public policy, the functioning of European institutions and EU policy processes;
  • Excellent written and spoken English, another EU language is a plus
  • Quick learner, able to understand the big picture and make connections;
  • With exceptional interpersonal, communication and team working skills;
  • Able to work on own initiative;
  • Able and committed to fit and contribute to a vibrant and diverse team culture;
  • Eligible and able to work in Belgium without requiring a work visa.
In addition, desirable criteria include:
  • Experience in project management, drafting budgets and writing grant proposals
  • Experience with member organisations, in the non-for-profit sector or as part of an international organisation

  • Full-time position, based in Brussels, Belgium
  • 1-year contract with possibility of extension (funding permitted)
  • Salary within a range of 35.000 – 40.000 euros gross/annum plus benefits
